Day 8 - Las Vegas

We woke up Thursday morning and began to explore the “Freemont Street Experience,” but, about a quarter of a way down the street, we realized that the “experience” had to do with the lights at night. So, we bought bus tickets and headed to the strip. Andrew had prepared an extensive agenda for us of all of the sights to see downtown. Our first stop of the day was a photo opportunity at the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign (contrary to popular belief—the closest bus stop to this is not the Mandalay Bay Hotel).

After a hike back to civilization, we got to see baby lion cubs napping with their trainer at the MGM Grand-their Mom was also napping on a plexiglass bridge overhead, we saw the M&M World, Paris in Las Vegas, the stage where Holly Madison performed “Peep Show” at Planet Hollywood, the Conservatory at the Belliago, the famous Bellagio fountain show, the Wildlife Preserve at the Flamingo, the sculptures at Caesar’s Palace, the Sirens of Treasure Island (an outdoor pirate show), the erupting volcano at the Mirage, and then back to Freemont Street for the “experience.”
